In the Best of the Edinburgh Fest you do get quite a bit of comedy bang for your buck. MC Andrew Stanley and Maeve Higgins from Ireland, Asher Treleaven from Australia and Eddie Ifft from the USA, each with a twenty minute set, keep the laughs coming think and fast. MC Adrew Stanley is a likable chap and told a number of humourous stories with a bit of observational comedy thrown in for good measure. The crowd was well warmed up and ready for the next act. Asher Treleaven took a different tact with a hilarious reading from a Mills and Boon followed by the funniest version of space invaders I've seen. Maeve Higgins' gentle stand up was refreshing and by the end of her twenty minutes I was left wanting to hear more from her. As the final performer of the show, Eddie Ifft's brash American style nicely rounded off an evening of contrasts with material both funny and at times verging on offensive but with sharp delivery and a bit of cheek made it a very funny set. The Best of the Edinburgh Fest - four good comedians in a show with something for everyone.
